Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“There's always room for improvement... I've performed well for the most part, but I'm always working to get better.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“We've worked hard all year... there's been some obstacles, but we've embraced the challenge. Our motto is that we are Bulldogtuff in everything we do. Right now our focus is to keep working so we'll be where we want to be down the stretch.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“We're a young team overall, so we've had to get familiar with each other... now we're focusing on consistency, on field communication, and making sure we close games out properly.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Everybody has to continue to do their jobs, myself included. We got to soak in the knowledge from our coaches and execute the game plan. We have great athletes and coaches. As long as we continue to be all-in, we'll finish the season strong.”

Q&A with Lewis County athlete Brycen McDonald

How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“Our season started out a little slow with a close win at home against Community and a tough loss on the road at Fayetteville. Since that point we have improved each week and seem to be playing our best ball now.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I have had a pretty good season so far. I have missed a couple throws along the way that resulted in interceptions but have overall kept the turnovers to a minimum. Most importantly, I have helped my team be in a position to win most of our games and possibly make a run in the playoffs.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“I feel like the team has made a lot of improvements as the season has gone along. Our offense has been very balanced and efficient. The defense has created several turnovers, gotten pressure on the opposing quarterback and kept the run game in check for the most part.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I think if we can minimize penalties and keep making improvements each week, we’ll be a threat in the playoffs.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“We need to keep improving on all 3 phases of the game and clean up the penalties.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“No certain school is recruiting more than the others. Several have extended invitations to come to their campus for camps or showcase type events.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I don’t have any visits scheduled at this time but I hope to do so soon.”

Do you have plans for game day trips?
“I hope to start doing game day trips soon.”

“I have always been a Tennessee fan. I also enjoy watching the other teams in the region, especially in the SEC.”

Q&A with Daniel Boone quarterback Luke Jenkins

How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“We are 7-0 which is best in school history, but I feel like we still have some things to iron out and I know we will have a tough playoff schedule ahead. We realized last year having such a young team that this year could be our year with so many returning starters and we have a goal to go 10-0 on the season and go as far as we could in the playoffs.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I feel like there were definitely some situations where I could have done better, but I’m pretty pleased so far. The last game against Science Hill I had some 3rd and 4th down conversion passes that kept drives going and we were able to score which made a difference in the game. My completion rate is only about 62%, which I’d like to improve. My team is more of a run offense so I know when I do get a pass play I need to make it count.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“Defense has been great. Special teams have been amazing. Everyone is playing their role and we’re really playing unselfish football. We just want to win. We don’t care who scores or how- just get points on the board and go home with a team victory.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“There’s always room for improvement everywhere, but I think the offense needs to clean some things up, I need to continue to get better with my reads on the RPO. Our line has been better the last couple of games cutting down on the false starts and holds so that’s good.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“We don’t need to be over confident because we are undefeated. We need to continue to stay focused and play hard and take one game at a time.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, I’d love to play football in college. For a long time I thought it would be basketball but the last couple of years I’ve decided football is what I want to play at the next level.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I’ve spoken to a few coaches, but none have offered anything yet. As a junior I just want to get better and keep my options open.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“No offers yet.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“I have not made any college trips yet.”

Do you have plans for game day trips?
“Not really.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Yes, Ohio State. Go Bucks! Kind of hard being surrounded by orange here in TN, but my mom is from Ohio so it’s been pretty natural to root for them with lots of family still up there.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“I feel like we’ve had some pretty great moments. There are a few moments we’d like to have back as a team but overall we have played well as a group.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“To play well as a team we should all have to improve individually. We should focus on the importance of our jobs and how we can all improve as leaders.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“We have to stay healthy, keep a positive mindset, and improve with every week going forward.”

“I have been contacted by a few schools gauging my interest in playing football. Being in the middle of my sophomore season, I’m not sure of what my recruitment will look like. My goal is to keep improving as a player. Over the next year my recruitment picture will become clearer.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“I wouldn’t say that a school is in the forefront right now.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“No, I will not be doing that till hopefully over the summer or in the fall of my junior season.”

Do you have plans for game day trips?
“Not at the moment.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“For the most part, yes. There are many things I would love to have back but learning from my mistakes has created growth and improvement.”

We need to continue to stay focused and play hard and take one game at a time.”

......................................................................................................

“We need to keep improving on all 3 phases of the game and clean up the penalties.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Middle College High quarterback Matthew Keller
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“It's been going pretty well... we've been focusing on getting better each practice... preparing ourselves for a playoff run.”
