Q&A with Franklin Road Academy running back Ty Clark III

How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall I felt we had a pretty good season though we fell short of our goal of winning state, it was still a great bounce back year.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Although the seasons are over, me and some of the guys have continued to work out in the weight room. I’ve also done some speed and agility training with Elite 3, and I’m currently looking forward to offseason baseball workouts as well.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel as if we’ll do great next year. Now that we’ve got a true look at what we’re capable of, the sky's the limit.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“I try not to overlook anyone because those are the games that creep up on you. That being said, I think we’ve established a bit of a rivalry with CPA now, and going up against our coach’s old team at Pope John Paul will certainly be a fun game.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Crews Law at linebacker was definitely a dog when we played them this past year, and that’s certainly easy for me to notice at running back so I’d have to give it to him.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“I would love to play sports in college and compete. I love both football and baseball, whichever allows me to play at the next level.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?

Q&A with Knoxville Catholic quarterback Jayden Neal
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Our high school record does not look how my team would like it to look. However we were in a lot of the games we lost. A lot of the games we lost were one score games and some that we were in for a majority of the game.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“Since we are now in the off season, I am working out 3 times a week in the morning with Lee Smith at Triple F and throwing on weekends. I also will get some occasional throwing in before school. Soon I will be starting 7 on 7 for a new team I recently joined called NPA Pack. That will be a lot of work I will get during the offseason.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I believe our team will do extremely well next year. I think a lot of guys that were juniors last year will thrive and I think we will all have such a good connection through us having played together for two years now.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“We play in the hardest league in Tennessee so there is an argument for any team we play to be the toughest team we have to go against. Every team has many athletes and ball players being able to go on to the next level and compete. So it’s hard to single out a team but I believe next year you can put us up in that conversation for toughest teams someone else will have to play.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Like I said before every team we play has ball players so it is hard to single any person out with how many there are.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Memphis Middle College wide receiver Brandon Mitchell
How did the high school football season go overall?
“Overall the season went not as I planned but we fought well throughout the season…can’t complain much.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“My plans now are just building muscle in the weight room along with a healthy diet. On the field, bettering myself both offensively and defensively and also attending a lot of camps as far as exposure.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“My team will do great next football season, coming back with a harder work ethic, bolder mentality and physically stronger. More games will be won next season for sure.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Our stronger competitors as far as I know will probably be Mase, but this time things will end differently.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“I don’t feel as if there is any individual that’s tough enough to compete with my team.”

......................................................................................................

Q&A with Daniel Boone athlete Rylan Trout
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“It’s been going great. I think this has been the best season of my four years so far.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“I’m very pleased with how I’ve been playing. I’ve had the best season I’ve ever had. I’ve done a lot on defense, offense, and special teams so it feels nice to make an impact on all sides of the ball.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“Our team has played outstanding this year. We went 10-0 in the regular season for the first time in school history. We have a lot of depth and a lot of guys who can play different positions.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“As far as the physical football side of things, there’s not much more I could ask of our team, however, the mental part is different. When someone messes up, I feel as if the guy who messed up looks for someone else to blame. If we could all work on coming together, forgetting about our mistakes, and moving on to the next play, we could be so much better.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“The keys to our team being successful moving forward are definitely staying healthy, knowing what you’re doing on the field, and continuing to improve at practice and in the weight room.”

Q&A with Friendship Christian offensive lineman Devin Lively
How has everything with the football season been going so far?
“It’s going great, we’re 10-0 getting ready to try and make a run at the gold ball.”

Have you been pleased with how you have played this season?
“There’s always room for improvement in my game but overall, I feel I’ve played pretty solid with the help of some great coaching and as a team we gel together well and trust each other but like I said there’s always room for improvement.”

How do you feel your team has played?
“The team has played well, we haven’t turned the ball over much and everyone is focused on doing their job on defense and special teams have been immaculate which has resulted in a lot of great wins.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel we can cut some penalties out, we’ve had more penalties than we should have and we’ve got to cut that out.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“We just have to focus on one game at a time and not get ahead of ourselves because everyone in the playoffs is there for a reason.”

......................................................................................................
Q&A with Middle College running back Taysean Fondren
How did the high school football season go overall?
“The season didn’t go as planned for my junior year but that’s cool because we were kind of in a rebuilding year, coming off an undefeated season and trying to replicate it is tough and we were young, next year, look out.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“The plan is to hit the weight room for 7 months and get back next season. I also run track so I will be getting bigger and faster.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“Just know, [we’re going to] remind the city who we are one game at a time.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“No team will be tough, in my opinion, as long as we don’t beat ourselves, we match up well with anyone in our league.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“MASE running back, he’s a great player, repping class of ‘24 just like me, he’s tough.”

......................................................................................................

How did the high school football season go overall?
“My high school season went amazing! I broke the school rushing record and touchdown record, while having over 100 in every game.”

What are your plans now with sports and workouts?
“I’ve been in the weight room since our last game ended, trying to build weight and muscle. But I’ve really been watching my own film and seeing stuff I’ve done wrong and I’ve been trying to work on my craft and get faster.”

How do you feel your team will do next football season?
“I feel like we will do extremely well, we just moved divisions and our confidence is through the roof from our last season. But we have been bonding and building together on and off the field so I feel like we will excel next year.”

“Through our season I feel like Alcoa is our toughest comp, but overall, I just know we are going to catch them one year.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?

“I feel like our team has played very well. We have had players step into roles that they aren’t used to playing and freshmen have had to step up and carry the load as well.”

What do you feel your team can improve on?
“I feel like we have been executing things very well this season but if I had to say one thing, as a team we need to improve on the energy we bring every day and the attitude in practice. It’s not like we are dead every day, it just takes us a little bit to get going then we start clicking.”

What are the keys for your team being successful going forward?
“Mcminn County lives and dies by being the most physical team on the field each week. Not everything is always going to go for us but the key to our success is no matter what, we are going to play harder and be more physical than the other team for four quarters.”
