“The key to us being successful going forward is to just keep fighting and believing in what we're doing. That's been a problem on some of our past teams, but not this one. That's a big thanks to our Head Coach Rodger McDonald for making us work harder than ever this off season.”

“I attended 14 college football summer camps in the month of June; getting coached by some of the nation’s best coaches. I’ve gained 15 lbs working out with my teammates, we’ve worked on getting faster and stronger, getting a percent better each and every day. It’s paid off this first week of pads. We’re pushing each other to be the best this year.”

What do you feel you have improved on the most since football ended?
“As I said I’ve gained 15lbs of muscle since the end of the season, I’ve been working on my speed, and agility. I have really focused on stretching so I may be more flexible in my position. I have pushed myself to be better than the last two seasons.”

How do you feel your team will do this football season?
“I feel we will be contenders for the 5A State Title again this year. We just need to focus on one game at a time, play as one, and just be the team.”

What team do you feel will be the toughest competition on your schedule?
“Moving Regions this year I believe our toughest competition is only 8 miles away in a young, athletic Centennial Cougar Team.”

Who is the toughest individual player your team will face off against?
“Our season will start in Giles County this year and they have two very fast and stilled running backs that we’ll have to stop; they are #1 X Zorian Randolph and #18 Ka’mauri Turner, if we don’t control them at the line of scrimmage this could be a long opening game.”

Do you want to play sports in college? If so, which one?
“Yes, football.”

What colleges have been recruiting you?
“I currently hold offers from Eastern Kentucky University, Western Kentucky University, Austin Peay University, University of North Carolina Charlotte, and Miami (Ohio). Numerous schools and coaches have been in and out of school over the past two years; I’d hope they’re all recruiting me. I was able to have several conversations with different universities while attending the summer camp series. I guess we’ll see how many contact me on Sept 1st.”

What school is recruiting you the hardest?
“This is all new to me and them being unable to talk to me it’s hard to get a feel on who’s recruiting me at this time.”

Have you made any college trips yet?
“Unofficially I have visited: Tennessee, Wisconsin, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Ole Miss, Kentucky.”

What camps did you attend this summer? How did the camps go overall?
“Clemson, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, Florida, Mississippi State, Auburn, Alabama, Tennessee, Notre Dame, Wisconsin, Cincinnati, Miami Ohio, Vanderbilt, Tenn. Tech. I felt really good about my performance at all the camps I attended and have some really good tape from the one on ones I competed in. I was able to take bits and pieces from all the coaches to better myself for the upcoming season.”

Did you have a favorite college growing up?
“Dad is a former Mississippi State Bulldog, mom’s from Alabama so I had to ring bells and say Roll Tide Roll, but I always enjoyed running around doing the Gator Chomp. Saturdays have always just been about football, from the [time] college game day starts until I fall asleep.”
